Ok…I felt that earthquake tonight

I thought it was funny that I have only really felt one earthquake since living in LA since 2003…Well I felt the one tonight…it felt like a truck hit the house!
It shook for a few seconds and then died down…I was playing a internet computer game (Left 4 Dead)…I told my teammates…brb…earthquake here…to check on my wife…she was ok, so I went back to game.
…maybe I should buy that earthquake insurance…it only pay $25K though…not really worth it to me.

Evidence of Increased Consciousness

When I talk to people about shifting their consciousness and/or becoming more present, aware, or conscious…I am speaking in general terms…not about being aware of anything in particular, but just being more aware of now.
When people asked me why, my answers were…cuz Eckhart Tolle is said so and he’s cool…
Well, I haven’t come up with a better answer yet…but I have noticed little things lately that happen that I am more likely to notice…
Since starting my diet here is what I have noticed are/or like about my new (less fat) body:
- Smoking cigars makes me feel ill for a while after…never really put that together before
- Beer and Wine can really ruin several days…I’m not really to quit yet, but I am far more moderate…
- Feeling hungry and needing to eat don’t always match up perfectly…
I have been getting more regular sleep…going to bed and getting up in the morning at the same time each day during the work week…I am still sleeping more on the weekends.
Once I establish a good sleep rhythm, I wake up about the same time in the morning and lay there until the alarm goes off…the spooky “knowing” very close to the exact moment…within a few seconds…of when my alarm is going to go off happens more often these days…
…I looked this up for an explaination beyond the mystical…turns out the brain stem keeps time…I just was never really all that “aware” of that so precisely before…so there you go…a greater degree of self-awareness.
Sure…all of these are tiny little examples…but hey this is me…Yoops…what do you expect? Rocket science?

I took the vow!

I took the vow, and part of the vow is that I have to get two more people to take the vow…please help me out and take the vow….
Just think if millions take a vow of peace and non-violence…that would be cool in my book.
…and this does’t mean I will change in anyway…just know that when I give out “grief”…it is in the spirit of nonviolent loving grief, and I will still watch gory movies, because I know that I am not my body…he heh.

Holiday trip to Catalina Island

We are on our way to Catalina Island for a two night stay…to celebrate 1) my new status of being unemployed for 4 days 2) my new job! That I will start on Tuesday 3) a four day weekend.
We are sitting in the catalina express ferry terminal and there is free wifi (w00t!).

Where were you during that moment of history?

I watched for about 1 hour from 8:30 until after the benediction (around 9:30) L.A. Time. I was in our conference room, where I helped install Dish TV as part of my old job…now I’m glad I got that done.
The room was full (several folks were on the floor) with military, government civilians and contractors watching history unfold together…
…We all stood up while Mr. Obama took his oath…
…Most of us in the room had taken several very similar oaths in our lives and we all chuckled as Mr. Obama stumbled a little on the words of the oath.
I think most people closed their eyes during the invocation. I did briefly, but then choose to open my eyes to witness the images from across the country…I also wished we could see people watching all around the world.
…I asked myself, how do I know when am serving my country in the best way…I figured out that when I am enthused about what I am doing, I am serving, not only my country, but all of humanity to the best of my ability…stand by for more on that.

Travel Log: Overnight Trip to San Francisco for MLK weekend
